The short version
- The extension only reads a page when a signed-in recruiter asks Scout to run on it.
- It works on supported sourcing tools, such as Juicebox. It doesn't read other sites or your browsing history.
- It never reads passwords, payment details or private messages.
- Data it collects is used only to source candidates for that recruiter, never sold, and never used for advertising.
1. What the extension does
When you run Scout on a search results or profile page in a supported sourcing tool, the extension reads the candidate profiles shown on that page, sends them to your RuneShips workspace, and shows matches in a side panel. It acts only on pages you open, in accounts you're signed in to and licensed to use.
2. What it reads
- Candidate profile fields visible on the page: name, title, employer, location, work and education history, and public links
- The address of the page Scout ran on
- Your RuneShips sign-in session, so results go to your workspace
3. What it never reads
- Pages on sites other than supported sourcing tools
- Your browsing history, bookmarks or other tabs
- Passwords, form inputs, payment details or private messages
- Anything at all when Scout isn't running
4. Permissions it asks for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| [host permissions for supported sourcing tools, e.g. app.juicebox.ai] | To read profiles on the page when you run Scout |
| [storage] | To keep you signed in to your RuneShips workspace |
| [sidePanel / activeTab] | To show matches next to the page you're on |
[Replace this table with the exact permissions in the extension's manifest before submitting to the Chrome Web Store.]
5. Limited use
The use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to provide the sourcing features you asked for. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, use it to determine creditworthiness, or let people read it except as needed to run and secure the Service, or with your permission.
6. Your responsibilities
You may only run the extension in tools and accounts you're authorised to use, and in line with those tools' own terms. Our Terms of Service have the full rules.
